Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Modern slavery and human trafficking remain a hidden blight on our global society. We all have a responsibility to be alert to the risks in our business and in the wider supply chain.
Our structure
Rappa Fencing Limited, is an independent manufacturing company. The head office is based in Stockbridge, Hampshire, United Kingdom.
Our business
The principal activity of our business is the manufacture of mobile livestock handling systems, electric fencing equipment and ancillary products.
Our supply chains
Rappa sources materials from the UK and overseas.
Our policies on slavery and human trafficking
This statement outlines the steps we have taken, and continue to take, to prevent modern slavery or human trafficking, in accordance with Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. Our Anti-slavery Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.
We have implemented the following policies to address the risks of modern slavery:
• Ethical Sourcing Policy: Ensures that our suppliers and contractors adhere to our standards regarding labour rights, fair wages, and safe working conditions.
• Whistleblowing Policy: Encourages employees to report any concerns, including issues related to modern slavery or human trafficking, without fear of retaliation.
• Code of Conduct: Sets out the ethical standards we expect from all employees, contractors, and suppliers.
Due diligence processes for slavery and human trafficking
We expect all those in our supply chain and contractors to comply with our values. As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk we:
• Build long-standing relationships with suppliers and contractors and make clear our expectations of business behaviour.
• Conduct risk assessments of suppliers and prioritise those in high-risk sectors or regions and require suppliers to confirm their compliance with anti-slavery laws and ethical labour practices.
• Have a policy of ‘knowing our customer’ to ensure that we are contracting with appropriate businesses.
Training
To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we provide information to our directors and employees through our company handbook. This ensures that our team can identify signs of modern slavery and take appropriate action if any issues arise.
Our effectiveness in combatting modern slavery and human trafficking
We use the following key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure how effective we have been to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains:
• Supplier visits by directors and/or relevant Rappa representatives.
• Staff monitoring.
• Regular audits and supplier reviews.
• Level of communication and personal contact with next link in the supply chain and their understanding of, and compliance with, our expectations.
This statement is reviewed annually to ensure its effectiveness and relevance.
