Rappa welcomes Hampshire Sheep Group

Around 25 Hampshire Sheep Group members saw first-hand how some of our products are made at our Stockbridge factory, and chatted to our team about how they make best use of Rappa mobile yards and electric fencing out in the field.

Group members share one common interest – sheep! They range from farmers and shepherds with thousands of sheep, through to those with no sheep at all, who are simply enthusiastic.

HSG Secretary Bob Clay says the visit was a great success: “I just wanted to thank the Rappa team for hosting our truly excellent visit, which allowed many members to see the hub of a well-respected, local company with its roots firmly in Hampshire agriculture.

“I'm sure I speak on behalf of everyone from the HSG when I say it was hugely enjoyable and very informative. Our party were all familiar with most of the Rappa products but it was fascinating to see and hear about the many new products which this innovative company will soon bring to market.”

The group meets on the second Thursday of each month from October through to March, with some other events over the summer.

Bob adds: “We often hear from a wide range of high-profile speakers on topical and interesting subjects, with plenty of time for questions and discussion. The aim of the group is to broaden knowledge, improve animal welfare and shepherding skills, and provide an opportunity to share experience and knowledge in an informal, supportive and social atmosphere.”

Rappa’s Managing Director Nick Cockayne says: “It was a pleasure to host such an enthusiastic group who were delighted to see how Rappa sheep handling systems and electric fencing equipment are manufactured here in the UK.”
