A proven solution
Rappa has been working with RSPB and Natural England officers across the country to help protect Curlew and ground nesting birds from predators.
It has been documented that failure at egg stage is one of the major issues facing these birds, which are red-listed in the UK – this is mainly due to predators such as foxes and badgers raiding nests.
Done correctly, temporary electric fencing has been proven to increase the number of nests reaching hatching stage and increase the number of chicks.
We have experience of working with the RSPB to offer help and guidance with conservation fencing. Rappa has delivered Curlew, Lapwing, Tern and Twite protection projects and we also have a track record of helping to design predator fencing projects for other ground nesting birds.
We offer a substantial discount for conservation charities and our experts can guide you through what type of equipment you'll need.
